KindyLinQ
KindyLinQ is a free, play-based program, offered for 3 year olds, at all state schools in Hervey Bay. This program fosters connections with parents and children, and supports them on their journey to their Kindergarten year and beyond. We acknowledge the important role of parents/carers as the first educators of their children, and endeavour to support you, in whatever way you require. The program is facilitated by an Early Childhood Teacher and Community Support Teacher Aide.
We work closely with Kindergarten providers in Hervey Bay, to provide information about kindergarten programs available and provide transitional support to these programs, as required.
At Sandy Strait State School, KindyLinQ operates every Wednesday, from 8:45am – 11:45am. A parent, grandparent or carer are required to attend the session, with their KindyLinQ aged child. Younger siblings are welcome to also attend. Morning Tea is provided at every session for adults and children. The program occurs in our airconditioned Strong Start Centre.

Strivers Playgroup
Sandy Strait State School operates a welcoming, supportive Playgroup every Monday during school terms from 8:45am - 10:30am in our air-conditioned Strong Start Centre. The Playgroup is run by our Playgroup facilitator, Donna. This is a free service and drop ins from new families are welcome. Playgroup Brochure
