Student Absences and Attendance
Regular school attendance is essential for student learning, wellbeing, and success. Parents and carers have a responsibility to ensure their child attends school every day unless there is a reasonable excuse.

Why Attendance Matters
Regular attendance at school is critical for:
Continuity of learning and academic progress
Developing positive routines and lifelong habits
Building strong relationships with teachers and peers
Supporting student wellbeing and engagement
Frequent or unexplained absences can impact a student’s learning and achievement. Schools are required to monitor attendance and work with families to support regular attendance where concerns arise.
